“Betraying Your Favorite Pair”
By: Meagan Hammer
Do you have the time to mend me?
Can you fix the holes you have made?
Tattered, faded, distressed, and worn;
I was always your favorite.
Am I so easy to replace?
Will you throw me out with the trash?
Wear me out then throw me away.
Did I not make you look your best?
Did I not feel good on your skin?
Was I not the perfect size?
Did you not feel good inside me?
How can you find a better pair?
I thought I was your only one.
Mend me and I’m yours forever,
Or find a better pair of jeans.
